WENTWORTH GOLF CLUB
Wentworth Club is a privately owned golf club and health resort in Virginia Water, Surrey, not far from Windsor Castle.
This club famously hosts the BMW PGA Championship each year, and previously hosted the 1953 Ryder Cup and the HSBC World Match Play Championship until 2007.
Gymkit UK were selected to refurbish their gym, including a new free weight, main gym and functional training area.
The free weight area had to be completely rebuilt, making the level flush with the rest of the gym floor. A custom made sound-proof floor was produced to prevent sound transfer into the gym. Rubber and vinyl products helped to give the gym a professional look.
Working with the client, their upgraded design offered a new space for the members to train in.
FULLWELL CROSS LEISURE CENTRE
Fullwell Cross Leisure Centre approached us to transform their old, underused swimming pool storage and training area into a new combined indoor cycling and Functional Training Studio.
They wanted to ensure the room was multi configurable and could be adapted for potential future trends.
Ultimately, they wanted to increase revenue generated by new members while retaining existing members for longer.
To achieve this, they wanted to offer new classes, such as HIIT, more personal training sessions, provide better spinning equipment and make the facility and fitness offerings accessible to a wider target audience – fitness buffs alongside new-starters as an example.
We couldn’t wait to get started with the fit-out to help Fullwell Cross Leisure Centre achieve their goals.
We fully refurbished the whole facility, including the stairs, corridor, bathroom, partial refurb of the storage room, and two main rooms, following brand guidelines of Vision RCL.
This included the following work:
- Raising the corridor ceiling
- Replacing the floor with an entrance wood plank and rubber in the gym area
- Installed air conditioning
- Created a mostly open-plan area by removing around half of the wall between the two rooms
- Installed a support lintel
- Installed indoor cycling bikes and a Queenax Functional Training Studio
- Installed new audio and visual system.
- Provided full training for the new Queenax rig.

Yes, we can handle the entire fit-out process, which includes flooring solutions and changing room installations.

CASE STUDY – WENTWORTH GOLF CLUB
Wentworth Club is a privately owned golf club and health resort in Virginia Water, Surrey, on the south western fringes of London, not far from Windsor Castle. The club was founded in 1926. Beijing-based Reignwood Group bought the club in September 2014 and implemented a new debenture membership structure.
The headquarters of the PGA European Tour are located at the club, and each year it hosts the Tour’s BMW PGA Championship. It was the venue of the 1953 Ryder Cup and of the HSBC World Match Play Championship from 1964 until 2007.
Gymkit UK were a chosen partner to refurbish their gymnasium including a new free weight area, a new main gym area and a new functional training area.
The free weight area had to be completely rebuilt bringing up the level flush with the rest of the gym floor. The custom made special floor was produced to eliminate sound transfer into the gym. Working with the client, a new gym design was created offering a new flow and space for the members to train in.
A combination of vinyl and rubber products were used to create the new look of the gym.
CASE STUDY – FULLWELL CROSS LEISURE CENTRE
Our project was to transform an old, underutilised existing swimming pool storage/training area into a new, highly occupied, combined indoor cycling and Functional Training Studio. To ensure the room is multi configurable and ensure it can cater for future trends. To offer a studio that gives users a much more enhancedprovision of spinning than currently offered. To offer a brand new format of classes E.G. HIIT classes to users. To increase revenue generated by new members and retaining existing members for longer than current. To facilitate growth in personal training revenue and secondary income. To further enhance the facilities provision of accessible fitness for all types of user; EG older, youth, male, female, conditioned, de-conditioned.
We fully refurbished the whole area (stairs, corridor, bathroom, partial refurb of storage room, 2 x main rooms) following brand guidelines of Vision RCL. We raised the corridor ceiling to open services –industrial, took out existing floor and replaced with entrance wood plank and rubber in gym area. Installed air conditioning system, created a mostly open plan area by taking out approximately half of the wall between the 2 rooms –support lintel was also installed. Installed indoor cycling bikes and Queenax Functional Training Studio. Installed new audio and visual system. We also provided full training for the new Queenax rig.
