1. Before using the massage bed, adjust the height setting (L1, L2, L3) to correspond with your own height. Then place yourself in the middle of the bed, so that the top of your neck is above the roller, before starting the chosen program. If your height is less than 165 cm, you will have to select L1 height and move a bit further downwards to make sure that your complete massage (Auto or C4) will be completely effective and that the roller elevation will always take place in the right area.

2. Do not attempt to lie down whilst the rollers are in motion.

3. To start with, during the first few days, we recommend using a small towel on the upper part of the bed, to protect the most sensitive areas of the spinal column (especially for those who have spinal problems, such as herniated disc, chronic back pain etc.). Furthermore, the massage sessions should be short (of only 15 / 30 minutes duration); and for the first few sessions it might beneficial to use any of the CUSTOM programs with the roller in its lowest position. In this position, the roller has less vertical movement, and the overall result is a much more gentle massage.

4. Once you have accustomed your body to the massage sessions, you can move to programs that deliver more acupressure. We recommend using the automatic mode during 15 / 30 minute sessions, as it is specifically designed to deliver a complete and balanced massage along your whole spine, allowing you to experience precise acupressure in specific areas of your back.

5. If you experience some discomfort in the back of your neck caused by the rollers, you can put a small pillow under your neck. You can also use a larger pillow or additional protection placed under the entire length of your back if necessary, or only under a particularly sensitive area.

6. The duration and frequency of the selected massage can be selected to suit your individual preference; however a couple of 30-‐minute massage session per day, conveniently spaced (i.e. 7-‐9 hours) will be more effective than one 60 minute session. Twice daily sessions are the most effective, though users may vary their frequency ranging from daily to once or twice weekly sessions.

7. The operating temperature selection is optional and will depend on your preference and tolerance for heat. You can set temperatures independently for the upper mattress, the lower mattress and the auxiliary unit. Do not use the auxiliary hand held unit on any part of your body for longer than 2 minutes continuously, and avoid using the IR devices above 50°C directly on the skin or if you wear thin clothes, i.e. during hot weather. In winter you can select up to the maximum temperature settings of 60 -‐ 65°C, especially in cold and high humidity atmospheres. In summer it is advisable to lower the temperature to 50 -‐ 55°C.

8. The speed selection is used to increase or decrease the horizontal displacement speed of the roller to fit user preferences. As the differences between the 3 optional speeds are small, we recommend the use of the S2 (standard speed).

9. After a massage your body will retain the heat for some hours, and for this reason it is advisable not to take very cold drinks or cold showers; this would eliminate the beneficial effects of the FIR heat. You should ALWAYS DRINK WATER after each session, but use cool or slightly warm water. It is recommended by most medical experts that the average person should drink more than 1.5 litres of water per day.

10. When the program has finished, wait for the roller to return to its default position to the head of the bed, before trying to sit up. When you do sit up, do so gently, to avoid any dizziness or nausea. Never get up off the bed whilst the roller is still moving.
